The Name

Grizzlybur has been my name for over two decades. I picked it up playing video games in high school and it just stuck. It became my gamertag, my only Instagram handle, and eventually my stage name. It's hard to separate the name from who I am at this point. Grizzlybur the artist is a different facet of me, but it's still me. Just expressed through sound, art, and bears.

The Shop That Started Everything

Before the music, I ran a small clothing boutique in Downtown Santa Ana. We sold streetwear and custom fitted hats, but the shop was really about community. I turned it into a creative space where local artists could show their work, and every month we'd host events with live musical guests. That's where I met the people who inspired me to start making my own music. Being surrounded by that energy every day made it impossible not to try.

The Music Came Next

In 2015, I released my first EP and Grizzlybur officially became a sound. I blend EDM energy with hip-hop rhythm, the kind of music that works for a late night drive or a morning coffee run. Microchips and Megabytes is a sci-fi concept album set in a universe where music is outlawed. Road to Paradise is the chill, scenic route. Take Out is the late night feast. Each project has its own world.

Meet Lil Grizz

Every brand needs a face. Lil Grizz is a cute, mischievous little bear who loves dressing up as his favorite characters from anime, video games, comics, and just about every corner of pop culture. He's basically a plushie that came to life. You'll find him riding Nimbus as Goku, charging up an E-Tank as Mega Man, devouring planets as Galactus, and bringing good luck every spring as a four-leaf clover bear.

He's the mascot, the spirit of the brand. He's not exactly me, but he's got my energy.

Merch Became a World

Around 2018, I started printing t-shirts with Lil Grizz on them to support the music. That turned into stickers, then hats, then hoodies, then full seasonal collections. Each drop became its own creative universe. Then the plushies happened and suddenly Lil Grizz was real, sitting on people's shelves and riding around in their cars.

What started as merch became something way bigger than I planned.

Bears Gotta Eat

I've been reviewing food and restaurants on social media since 2010 with my series Kris Kringle Treats. Food has always been part of my life, so naturally it became part of Lil Grizz's identity too. The Take Out album cover literally has him peeking out of a takeout box. Whether it's tacos at midnight, a burrito the size of your head, or churros with coffee, food shows up everywhere in this brand because the best conversations happen over a meal and the best beats get made at 2am with snacks.
